Right PPE + Right Time = Healthy Providers – Using the right personal protective equipment (PPE) at the right time helps to ensure the necessary supplies will be there when you need them in the future.
The COVID-19 virus is transmitted through droplets when you cough or sneeze, by:
prolonged personal contact such as touching or shaking hands
touching something with the virus on it then touching your mouth, nose or eyes before you clean your hands, or
having someone cough of sneeze in your face
NSHA has launched a new “COVID-19 Hub” to better support all health care providers and staff across our organization to quickly access COVID-19 information they need.
An alternate phone line for COVID-19 initial assessments has been set up to ensure health-care workers are virus-free and able to safely provide care, reducing the demand on 811.
Home-care and long-term care providers can access this line. This line can be used as analternative to calling 811 for assessments. This screening tool aligns with that of 811 and includes booking of appointments at screening centers as required.
Access the screening service by calling:1-833-547-0059
Please note that the alternate assessment line is intended for screening purposes only.
