Today marked the first set of bargaining dates between the Council of Health Care Unions and the Employer (NSHA). This process began today with the exchange of Bargaining Proposals.
This is the first of eight (8) bargaining dates between the parties scheduled between now and May 13, 2021.
Important progress has also been made on Essential Services planning. The Labour Board and both parties agreed to dates starting May 14, 2021 for negotiations to begin. Having a concluded essential services plan is required by legislation before a strike can take place. The ability to have an effective strike and pressure Employers - is a fundamental part of the bargaining process.
